Topic #42
Here’s today’s topic, brought to you by Plinky.com:
What is your favorite word? Why? My word is “UNJUST.”
The reason is because my ex husband gets away with not paying child support and I am a single mother. This battle has been going on for years in Illinois. I will prevail. The meaning is listed below:
- unfair: not fair; marked by injustice or partiality or deception; “used unfair methods”; “it was an unfair trial”; “took an unfair advantage”
- violating principles of justice; “unjust punishment”; “an unjust judge”; “an unjust accusation”
- inequitable: not equitable or fair; “the inequitable division of wealth”; “inequitable taxation”

i am all to familiar with this word!!!! Its kind of reminds me of what our government did to all the with the taxpayer money to bail out the corporations and leave all the people groveling in debt. i hope you struggle ends justly! keep your head up and stay positive…Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world….as a mater of fact it’s the only thing that ever has. “heartcomplete” yes a community of believers can encourage each other and keep up going when the times get hard. The government is what got us all in this mess. Why is it the rich get rich er and the poor get poor er?!

I thought of my favorite word yesterday but forgot what it is! Can I come back and post when it hits me? It might take a few weeks. I’m getting old.
Since I have no favorite word right now, I’ll tell you my favorite sound: a latex mask being peeled off. Or, at least, the way that sounds in a movie, when person you thought was the killer peels off her mask and proves to be someone else.

Oldancestor, great post, yes what a great sound of Latex…a mask being peeled off. I never thought of it that way, and in a movie, when you thought a killer was one person to find it was someone else! How come I can guess the killer in every single episode? Maybe I have a killer ‘instinct’ in me….hum…lol

Life is unfair, but we can all do our part to make sure that the people around us are not treated unjustly.

There is a lot in life that is unjust… we wonder why people can’t just honor their word or share their largess… I don’t have all the answers. I just know that the only justice that matters is one where Lady Justice is not blind but operating fairly with her eyes wide open.
Best,
E

P.S.:
we, living in Germany, have an old lady in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Ursel Winter, she suffered much unjust in the Third Reich, by Adolf Hitler. But fortunately she managed to escape that horror. She has been very kind to us and invited us to New York 15 years ago. I would like to say her some nice words but I am not good enough with a telephone. Maybe someone in Chicago could do the phone call for me and my wife?

I could send the phone-number to you - the old lady does not answer to e-mails no more… - but we would be glad, if we could show her, that we like to stay in contact and support her to forget her sadness …
