Do you have a pet? What kind of pet do you have? Why did you choose that pet?

In 2010- 71.4 million U.S. households have some type of pet. Do you worry about when you die and what happens to your pet then? I have to wonder if you all worry like I do. My family is all allergic to my two cats so that is not an option for me if I die.

The newest trend because we value our pets so much is getting a “TRUST” for our beloved pets. Do you have one, or have you considered one?

I was reading about it at www.pettrustlawblog.com.

A pet trust can cost from 750.00 to 2,500.00 Us Dollars.

What do you think about this?

Some thoughts I have:

Whenever something unexpected falls onto your path, its always a stepping stone in a journey to a place that we have all been thinking about, because in time and space, as you well know, there are no accidents or coincidences.

When someone Judges you… Tell yourself, “thank you for sharing what is true about YOU.”

“There are many people in our universe, whose lives would be made “RICHER” IF ONLY THEY WOULD LET YOU IN.”

The KEY to getting what you want: is to say THANK YOU to the things you want that are not even here yet (They are manifesting).

I was recommended this web site by my cousin. I’m not sure whether this post is written by him as nobody else know such detailed about my problem. You are amazing! Thanks!

Thanks Terri, this is a great question to ponder as our animals mean so much to us ♥

I think a pet trust is a great idea - after all, when we make an animal part of our family we do so for its lifetime and usually assume that its lifetime will be shorter than ours.
We have legally appointed guardians for our dog and we are for theirs - they are people we’ve known for a long time and we know would give her the love that we would want for her. We just have to hope we’re not all together on the same plane at once!

We have a dog, a cat, seven zebra finches and about sixteen fishies. We love our pets, but I don’t even take them to the vet let alone get a trust for them. Oh we are silly Americans!

Susan, I hope we all end up together, and I am looking into a Trust for our two cats-just in case. ;) and Natalie that is awesome to have so many pets! I know times are hard so hang in there, and maybe a career choice is setting up a site for people like you with lower bids.

Great post about our family pets and their place in our hearts. Why shouldn’t they be provided for?

Oh, oh. You to go to wiki for a picture of a dollar ? You did not have your own dollar to photocopy? That means you are just as broke as me as I have been rolling pennies and nickels until that pension check comes Tuesday.

I don’t roll, I have a little bank that counts the pennies as I put them in. I will have to post that photo. Broke, you have noooo idea, well yes you do!

I have a brand new (to me) beloved pet! I rescued a dog from the shelter about a month ago. He is the most amazing and wonderful dog! I’m fortunate to know that if something happened to me, my family would take him and love him as much as I do. But I knew two standard poodles that were left with a large trust that helped their new owner to take the very best care of them possible! Interesting question you posed, Jackie!

Thanks for your sweet comment Rosa, and I love pets all types and kinds. My two cats are sooo human I sware. It’s like some humans treat people worse than our animals, if that makes sense.

Dogs are one of my favorite pets. I have a Cocker Spaniel. He is the cutest dog you have ever seen. His color is buff. Big round brown eyes. Looks like his mom.
Chose him because he came from a breed that was very mild tempered and we have 3 children. Our puppy is part of our family and believe me he knows he is. Smart as can be.
We don’t really care for cat’s too much. They make me nervous around little once.

Thanks for your comment Joanne, hey dogs are so wonderful. I had a white poodle growing up named Prince, and That is exactly what he was to me. ;)

    Interesting post Jackie.
I have a dog and she is part of the family so I do worry about what would happen to her if we died suddenly, so we have made provision in our wills that if we both died together, my long-time friend would take Poppy and love her just like we do. My friend has done the same - she has a dog and she has named me as the guardian of her dog should something happen to her.
It gives us all peace of mind.

I am sosoo glad you already did this Barb-I admire you for that, as I am seeking to do something now for my two cats. I live in an apt or I’d have dogs. Or maybe both, it’s not allowed here (dogs) in apartments. That really sucks! Thanks for your comment I love your blog.

We have a beautiful tabby cat we go from a shelter.
We adore him and he acts like a dog; following us from room to room.
    Have a Blessed Memorial Day!

I have had pets my entire life. Presently we have a cat, and yes, I do wonder what will happen to her if I should precede her in death. She has been with us for 17+ years! (White with tabby spots, Norwegian Forest Cat).
    have a good holiday!
