Can a movie be better than the book it was based on?
Topic #190:
Can a movie be better than the book it was based on? What examples come to mind? Or is it sometimes just a matter of which version you see first, as that will define the story for you, regardless of which version was made first?

I loved the book better than the movie because of the details. I remember the one scene in the book where it tells of how one can drowned in the sea and I never knew about it. It is one thing that I fear, even as I know how to swim. I love real stories so the book was better than the movie on this.

Sounds interesting movie and I may understand detail.:)
It depends… I’ve seen some that worked and others that were a waste…
I typically love books better than the movies because with books, your imagination can conceive of so much more than the movies can visually create for you. Not to mention with the movies, they usually either change so much where it isn’t even the same as the book or they add to it and mess up their original meaning….OR they take out details of the book that made it so great. That always frustrates me.
just like harry potter a lot of harry fans like the books since in the movie they leave out a lot of details.. great post
