Today I wish to share some photo’s around my outside of the house. My father is quite the gardener and I am not. He wishes to teach me so many wonderful things but it’s just not my forte’. Please help me try to “get into gardening.” What do you all suggest? It would mean the world to my father.

So many arrangements to choose from. The challenge was finding the one that stood out, was interesting. I think the Art Car dashboard met the challenge. Not sure about the one I posted on http://cardboardmetravels.com.

Here is my thoughts after a lot of thinking I finally found a great example… the beauty of mosaics! We think of them as art, but in ancient times it was practical as carpet or basic white tile is to us today.

Great pics. Glad I discovered your blog!
Check out http://noels-garden.blogspot.com/ for some gardening inspiration. My girlfriend is an avid gardener and enjoys Noel Kingsbury.
I enjoyed reading your father’s gardening skills. He’s like my dad, anything he plants , it grows. I kind of have a green thumb too. All I need is a plant, soil and water and viola! Sometimes they die during Winter and that breaks my heart… So lately, I just enjoy nature around me or someone’s garden. Beautiful post! Have a fun day….
Thanks for the pingback
I liked your pictures especially the one with, I am assuming, your dad. You could start small, with the spring coming it is time to pull weeds that are starting to come out, that is the ultimate lesson, learning what is a weed and what isn’t. Your dad will also teach you about the layout that he had in mind for his garden patches, he can show you the difference between the annuals and perennials, bulbs and separating them if they are old or over crowded. Gardening is creative, you always learn something knew, it is interactive, it is nurturing, calming. Sometimes it can be aggressive, such as when I declare war on a weed. I don’t use pesticides so I get down and dirty with that darn weed. You can make it what you want, gardening is good for the soul.
You got daffodils. I have some bulbs. They take all year and then flower and last only a week or so. Has that been your experience?
Flowers…go to the nursery and get lots of flowers and plant them with your dad.
