Weekly Photo Challenge FRIENDSHIP

What is Friendship?

As the two kittens hug:

“For looking past flaws and faults; For all the time you spend; for all the kind things that you do. Thank you; thank you, my best friend.”

What is a best friend?

What is the definition of my best friend?

What is the definition of your best friend?

As I sit and ponder the meaning of such wise words I realize that in life if God is not my best friend then I have no friend at all. Now that I am older in my 40′s I come to realize that I have no friends from childhood, grade school education, high school education, college education, jobs, careers, co-workers, and in family. My real friend is in Jesus. If he did not die on the cross at Calvary to live my life out on earth for Christ, then I would not be here. What an honor!
I cannot say that anyone has done what Christ has done for me in my lifetime. I am lucky to have that in my life. Although, true friendship what is it? I know that when I am a friend, I go into it whole heart and soul. I give beyond what is asked. I have found that in life that if we don’t give that, then why give at all!? I have found that no friend in my life did give what I have to offer. I have been rejected many times. It is so sad, that society judges us based on looks the stero typing in my life is beyond words.
I have a silent disease, it is called “cystic acne.” I was once a good looking woman, whom took on the world and made amazing strides. I am not proud to say this but it made me feel attractive, and loved because of the attention I use to get. Get that, use to get. So Yes I talk from experience. I know what it feels like to be the under dog! I know what it feels like for others to judge. This has taken a toll on my life, what about yours? I hope and pray that is not the case for anyone who stops here.
I am proud to say that my two cats (whom do not judge me) are my best friends. Why? They always greet me at the door, talk to me, spend time with me, kiss me, sleep with me, love me, hug me and so much more! The love I can feel from them is beyond words. Don’t you feel like that at times, or how about all of the time as I do?

Is it sad?

What I am most thankful for is each and every friend I have made online, as you are MY BEST FRIEND. I do read your blog posts, I do comment on them, I do give my undevided attention to you. I hope you know that without each of you I would not have the courage to write what I just did. Thank you for never giving up on my and my blog, I honor YOU.

You bless us each day by being YOU, Jackie!! <3

  4. Living on a farm in the middle of nowhere (!) makes me sometimes long for the physical contact that friends enjoy. I want a hug, or a touch or just shared warmth. It is not easy being isolated, whatever the reason. I am so blessed to have many wonderful friends, even from very early childhood. I don’t remember those days, but they do, and we are able to laugh and get past it. All my friends live “inside my computer”, and I thank God for the internet, letting me stay in-touch and in contact.

Jackie…..you are a very special person, someone who opens their arms and makes others feel very welcome. I’ve always felt that way with you. Your posts are inspiring and interesting. Friends are very important in life, and that includes blog friends too! Thanks for the ping!

  10. There have been friends over the years and I don’t know how things drifted apart and I now know hide nor hair(or is it hare) of them. I am sure we would laugh at how old we’ve become and enjoy recounting years past. I have not thought about it for a long time but I am unhappy about it.

  11. I treasure your friendship very much and I value it as a precious gift. Your support and encouragement do so much in uplifting my spirit and giving me the courage to continue my writing and exploration of myself as a woman and as a writer. Thanks Jackie!

I completely agree. Without God, where and what are we? God created us for relationship/friendship. He created us to commune with Him, yet The Fall destroyed that. Now society says “You can do it”, “You are strong” etc. It’s all about the individual. We need each other, and we need Him. Otherwise we dry up and have no life.
    Bless you
    Kate
