I have a confession to make: I am UGLY Part 2

I have a confession to make: I am UGLY.

This week I am going to discuss the show UGLY BETTY.

I was browsing through my netflix movies and decided to hit the UGLY BETTY movie.

Well I had no idea how this would impact me and my life. Especially Emotionally.

I feel like UGLY JACKIE!

Yes, but I am also:

  1. Unique

  2. Godly

  3. Loving

  4. yielding to your needs

(UGLY)

In this movie, the girl ugly Betty gets a job at a high end fashion magazine called Mede or Mode. Either way when the first show aired I felt like I could relate. WHY? Well, I have a face condition and as of Tuesday I am having surgery to remove my scars from cystic acne which makes me feel ugly. I went on a Paralegal job interview two years ago and the attorney told me that he cannot hire me after he talked to me, he said that Jackie, you are too passionate and have too much potential for me to honestly hire you. I believe you belong somewhere where they could use your expertise in this field. The next day I found out the girl waiting next to me got hired. She was a tall blonde! She must of been maybe 20! I was in my 40′s. So for the front office he wanted a pretty FACE. Guess what? That was so not funny…(the ugly Betty or ugly Jackie) did not get that job. More information on movie below.

And, just to add one more thing … as far as beauty goes (physical, I mean) … you are FAR from ugly!

  2. fiztrainer says:

I have met people who most would say were beautiful, but after 2 minutes found that person to be very ugly because they were ugly on the inside. And, I have met people who may be considered not quite attractive, but after 2 minutes found them to be very beautiful because they were beautiful on the inside. I know it is cliche, but it is true … beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. This society puts way to much weight on supposed “beauty” and very little on a person’s integrity, kindness, compassion, etc. I think, from reading your blog, that you are VERY beautiful!!

I agree with everyone above, but I also feel the pain you must be enduring. You must do what you feel is necessary.

As far as the job, if the guy really did hire the tall blonde based on her looks, then think about what hell it would have been to work for him. You would have been miserable working for an egotistical womanizer. No job is worth that.

    Good luck with the surgery.

  4. I’d love to convince you the surgery isn’t necessary, but in my heart I believe you should do whatever reasonably gives you a shot of confidence. That’s important! God has given you many wonderful qualities, and they are more important than anything else, but at the same time isn’t it wonderful to know that there are doctors and procedures who can smooth out our imperfections and sometimes just give us a healthy boost! I wish you well, Jackie! I sure do! Debra

If the surgery makes you feel good about yourself that’s brilliant but you are already beautiful inside and out! Good luck for Tuesday

  6. Thanks for coming by with sweet comments on my Sunday. I am so excited to have my surgery.

  7. There is a real possibility that he thought you really were too strong to be doing that job. Maybe the personalities were fierce and needed a more wallflower-esque kinda gal. Perhaps the blonde bombshell did not have your fire after all. Like I said before, I think you are a knockout. Really.

  8. You know that I think you are beautiful, good luck for the surgery, I hope that it goes very well!

  9. I have been reading you for a long time now..almost as long as I have been blogging and you are truly beautiful!

I love your Reply
