THE POWER TEAM

THE POWER TEAM

http://www.thepowerteam.com/ THE POWER TEAM is a group of world-class athletes who are also world-class speakers. They use our talents to spread the gospel and inspire people around the world to make positive changes in their lives. They utilize visually explosive feats of strength to enthuse, astound and to inspire crowds from both the Christian and secular community.

I just wanted to share with you this because I was attending a Church a few years ago that had The Power Team there performing for all of us. I invited some people and we had a riot. It was truly amazing to see them “IN PERSON.”

Most people recognize THE POWER TEAM from our many appearances on CBS, CNN, USA Network, Walker, Texas Ranger (with Chuck Norris), and several religious networks. We have been recognized by President George W. Bush and over 100 governors, senators, and congressmen for the positive contributions we have made to the lives of America’s youth.

Random Rambling Sunday

Historians that have already been here and gone have left behind valuable lessons in life we all can learn from. It is important to know that in order to be admired that standing out from the crowd is what makes the difference between being valuable, remembered and different.
For example Socrates, Mother Teresa,Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr., and Gandhi; all have left their mark on the world today and for years to come.Interesting enough each individual has lived their life on their own terms.
They did not fit the “norm of society” as we all know in the cultures of today.
I have a saying and it is, knowledge is power.
Life is a journey and I intend to use my knowledge to share empowering perspectives that I have learned from the generations of historians of our past centuries.
Perhaps some of you may have felt like you didn’t “fit in”, even as a young child.
This feeling often stretches into adulthood too. I know this is true for me. I like to think outside the box.
It just seems that if I always do things the same waylife become boring.
Some people like the daily grind of a routine.
They like to have a sense of control of their time and their day.
In reality they are not in control it is an illusion.
For example, I can take a different way to and from work,or to and from the store and my day seems more exciting.
I love to try new restaurants and new foods.
So, by doing the same things, we cannot expect to get different results, agreed?
So in order to get new results or better result weneed to try different approaches, different perspectives, and new beliefs about what is possible. Its like the more I think differently the better I feel and the better the results. Of course in the positive aspects of the thoughts we have notthe negative thoughts.
I wrote this on http://www.scribd.com/
and place to put your writing into and then possibly publish.

Hi Jackie,

You wanted to know how to make a signature like I have on Leeswammes
Well, in Word, I chose a font I liked, then I wrote the word leeswammes with it. Then, if I remember well, I used a little program called “Snipping Tool” that I got free with my laptop (maybe everyone with a Windows operating system has it?) and “cut out” the string of words from the page on the screen. I saved this and so it’s a picture that I use under every post (if I don’t forget as I have to add it manually).
Hope that works for you!
Enjoy your Sunday!

The Cause Within You by Matthew Barnett

Matthew Barnett

"What I have Learned says Matthew Barnett"

Today I have had the pleasure of reading The Cause by Matthew Barnett and I am on page 51. It is obvious the date on my camera is off b/c this book just came out in 2011. Today is 6/1/2011

I am reading the background of how the Dream Center got started and what they do. I do not want to spoil this book so I am going to say that it’s a wonderful read.

Instead of celebrating such a great success in Matthews Ministry he goes into the streets of L.A. and lives among the skid row people, the homeless to bring back “His Fire For The Lord” and his original passion to help people: not build a church.

Page 53 is Chapter 5\Discovering the Cause of a Lifetime; where I hope Matthew walks me through “how to find my own cause.”

With all that said, I pray that you pick up this book and let me know what you think of it. Have a great week and bless others anyway you can with what you have today in your hands.

Be a blessing~ Jackie Paulson

Final Review:

The Cause Within You by Matthew Barnett

Matthew Barnett

The genre for this book is very inspirational, guiding, spiritual, and very thought provoking.

If you are searching for meaning and purpose to your life this book will help guide you to finding it. “Discover the cause God has for you.”

Matthew Barnett is co founder with his father, Pastor Tommy Barnett of TheDream Center in Los Angeles. His father is also the senior pastor of the historical Angelus Temple.

When Matthew Barnett sees someone with a need, he sets out to fill it and that includes searching for hurt people that need healing.

Quote: “Tonight is the 15th Anniversary of the beginning of The Dream Center, in which we help to restore the shattered dreams and empty lives of broken people.” Page 3

The story unfolds by Matthew spending the night of his 15th Anniversary on the streets of Los Angeles, with the homeless community who suffer.

Quote: “I’d been praying all night that the Lord would give me somebody to help, and then He delivered Annette to me.” Page 26

God wants us to enjoy serving others by doing what we are naturally talented at. If you have a talent that comes naturally to you God will bless it; as he did with Matthew Barnett.

At the end of each chapter Matthew writes, “WHAT I’VE LEARNED.” These pointers will help you to find exactly what it is that you are naturally great at doing and guide you along your path to finding it.

This is book would be a great group study as it has questions at the back of the book for discussion, loaded with scriptures.

Matthews other book includes “The Church That Never Sleeps.”

Memorial Day Book

Description

It’s just seven days before Memorial Day, and a spike in CIA intelligence has pointed to a major terrorist attack on the United States. Now it’s up to counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp to pull out all the stops. Rapp immediately leaves for Afghanistan, where he leads a special forces unit on a daring commando raid across the border into a remote Pakistani village. Their target: an al-Qaeda stronghold. Rapp and his team soon discover plans for a catastrophic nuclear attack on Washington, DC. Information is quickly relayed back to CIA headquarters, and a nuclear emergency support team scrambles to the scene. In a few hours, the freighters have been located and disarmed and the danger has been averted. Or has it? Mitch Rapp can’t shake the feeling that the operation seemed just a bit too easy. Rapp follows his instincts on a quest to unearth the whole truth. What he finds is truly terrifying, and with Memorial Day closing fast, Rapp must find a way to prevent a disaster of unimaginable proportions.

Roe vs. Wade Case Brief

For those who are interested I went to College in 2007-2009 Todays post is my paper on a Landmark Case: Roe Vs. Wade.

Roe v. Wade: Case Brief

Jacqueline Ann Paulson

Legal Research PA201-07

November Term

Professor: Laurence Gillis

Citation: 410 U.S. 113 (1973)

Parties: Jane Roe v. Henry Wade

Plaintiff: Jane Roe

Defendant: Henry Wade

Landmark case: Abortion became legal in the United States.

Factual Background: Jane Roe known as Norma McCorvey, a pregnant single woman who wanted an abortion in the State of Texas. The complaint was brought to the United States Supreme Court. Roe represented herself as well as other woman who become pregnant and want the option of an abortion. Texas law stated that she or any woman could not abort their child, thus making it a crime unless the reason for the abortion was to save the life of the mother. The Defendant Henry Wade was the district attorney of Dallas County. He was responsible for enforcing the laws against abortion in that area.

Issue: The plaintiff, Jane Roe, alleged that the abortion law in Texas violated her constitutional rights and other women’s. The question presented is, does the plaintiff have a constitutional right to terminate her pregnancy?

Holding: Yes, (Vote 7-2): The statute is unconstitutional because the constitution contains a right to an abortion, based upon the U.S.Constitution with regards to the rights to privacy.

Rule: U.S. Const. Amend.XIV: Tex. Code Crim. Proc. arts. 1191-94, 1196 (Wikipedia, 2005)

Application: The Plaintiff, Jane Roe wins her case, which made it a landmark case and allows abortion to be legal in the United States.

Conclusion: The court concluded the framework of the three tier trimesters in the stages of pregnancy to determine the answer. The Texas law violates this framework, because it outlaws abortions not just in the third trimester, but also in the first and second trimester of the pregnancy. The decision was final on Jan 22, 1973.

There was a fire drill that we didn’t know of late last year in our building, I totally grabbed for my important documents and yes I was definitely leaving the laptops and some valuables which I only laugh at that it would have been left behind!
This question reminds me of the movie “Leap Year”!

    My cats!
I have even trained my cats to come to me. I do not want them afraid in a fire or if a tornado were coming. So, I have trained them both. They know what it means to “get in the cage now.” So, I won’t have to fear. I can replace everything but them.
So I also have renters insurance b/c I live in an apartment.
